Blind man saved by his dog

http://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/blind-man-struck-subway-says-dog-saved-my-life-v21944182

A blind man walked over the edge of the subway even with warning from his guard dog. The man had then fainted, and his dog tried to pull him up, but they were both struck by the subway. Luckily the motorman saw them and tried slowing the train down. Neither of them were seriously hurt.

It's remarkable already that animals can be trained to help people in need, but it's even crazier to think that they could save a life. It seems that even when you feel like you have no people to help you, you will always have a dog or animal.

Who knew a dog could save a life?

Lesley Hailwood was eating chocolate when a piece got lodged into her throat and she could barely breathe. Her dog saw her struggling and knew he needed to help. That's what he was trained for. Lesley was laying down on her couch struggling to get a breath and her dog pounced on her chest to dislodge the chocolate. It worked! She says if it wasn't for her dog she wouldn't be alive today.

This is heroic in such a weird way! It's a great thing that the dog was there with her. They say dogs are a man's best friend and I'd have to say this story just proves that point even more. Coming from a person that loves dogs already, it just goes to show that they are great animals.

Wildfires Happen through Nature too.

On Friday, June 28, 2013 there was a lightening strike in Arizona, and it started a fire which just started to get bigger. They hadn't seen a fire this big since 1966. It started as an acre of fire, and by the middle of the next day it was 8 acres long. Before they could get it completely out it was 500 acres! It put people and their homes in danger; it also put whole communities in danger.

This is crazy! When you think of a fire you think of a little bonfire or a house fire, but in this case it was 500 acres! That is huge! It would be a very horrific thing for the people by it and the people that were affected by it. It would also affect the economy and the loved ones of the people it was by. It is a truly devastating thing, now those communities have to completely rebuild themselves.

Spring Break Binge Drinking

http://www.azfamily.com/news/Binge-drinking-big-problem-for-students-on-spring-break-in-Cancun-197865791.html

During spring break in Cancun, students go all out partying. Most all students are already drinking before noon, and are drunk within a couple of hours. Two students in the article explain that you need to have self control, and most students don't have it during Spring Break. Chris Palumbo says that if he were to go out in the ocean then he wouldn't be coming back if he had too much to drink.

To me, people that are spring breaking need to make sure they have someone with them that can watch over them and make sure that nothing will happen. I also agree with the two students saying they need self control. If students had self control during spring break I feel like there would be a dramatic drop in fatalities and injuries or even problems in general.
